KNOW THE SKIN YOU'RE IN?
The most important step in caring for your skin comes in understanding your specific skin type and how it adapts to certain circumstances or seasonality. Using cleansers and treatments that are too harsh, may send a signal to your skin that more oil is actually needed. Conversely, applying moisturizers that are too thick or heavy can result in decreased natural oil production, resulting in even drier skin. Taking the time to learn your skin’s specific needs will help you to choose the right options that will balance your skin resulting in a healthier, more radiant complexion.
“If men bled once a month, sanitary products would be free. Condoms are free and sanitary products are not, it is a failure of justice.” Siv Ngesi
Partnering with The MENstruation Foundation, is our proudest moment yet, since starting YBB.
The MENstruation Foundation, is a nonprofit organisation that fights period poverty and gives women dignity. 3 in 10 girls in South Africa, miss school and stay at home because of menstruation. The culture of silence around menstruation limits the ability of women and girls to equally participate in society. It undermines their social status and self-esteem. We give women the right to go to school, play sport, go to work and participate in life despite not being able to afford sanitary products.
The MENstruation Foundation aim is to create free access to sanitary pads for young woman during their menstrual cycle. Each schoolgirl receives one token that she can use at the Sanitary Pad Vending Machine to retrieve a pack of eight sanitary pads per month. Pads are locally manufactured and compostable.
How can you get involved in making a difference to the life of a girl child?
Click on the donate link above, and add minimum R10 to your shopping cart. R10 will help provide a pack of 8 sanitary pads to one girl child.
YBB, will update all donations generated and activities of The MENstruation Foundation on our page monthly so that you can stay up to date on the difference you are making to end period poverty!
